August 15, 2022

Angela Christine Argento, MD, discusses the disparities that exist in the diagnosis and treatment of early non–small cell lung cancer in terms of the populations who face barriers to care on the basis of gender, socioeconomic status, and race.

Dr Argento supports the role of the nurse navigator in the clinical setting as well as a continuing effort for studies to help identify which patients might have difficulty in following the course of their disease management and how to get an "even playing field" for all patients regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, or race.
